A sand grain minute, floated in distress,

a speck in foreign zone.

Oyster’s open jaw, heralded ingress,

charting terrain unknown.

Irritant petite, began to oppress.

Naïve host faced woes thrown.

Wayward guest’s tight clasp, mollusk did suppress,

shed nacre tears full blown,

blending perseverance exquisite.

Birthing a pearl fine,

layer by layer. Spun innate finesse,

how fulgently it shone!

Arduous life seems,

bend not, under stress,

Pearls are buds of grit sown.
