One day, I set off for a long walk, mind cluttered,

A sojourn into the woods, deep.

A new world, limitless, enigmatic, and unfettered,

My euphoric heart began to leap.

Dense leaf canopy, emerald foliage, slopes steep,

Sunbeams playing hide and seek,

A cricket’s chirping disturbing a lizard, half-asleep,

I found a happy gurgling creek.

Nature’s beauteous wonders rendered me meek,

I felt great gratitude seep.

Return I did, my difficult life, now no longer bleak,

The sights? Mine to keep.
